The Building Department is responsible for issuance of alarm, building, gas, plumbing, sheetmetal, sign, trench, wiring and wood stove permits. Inspections on the permits are conducted by the Building Department. The Office of the Zoning Board of Appeals falls under the jurisdiction of the Building Commissioner. As the Zoning Official, the Building Commissioner is advisory to the Board, whose Members are appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
