About the EDIC

In 2002, the Massachusetts legislature authorized the establishment of the Town of Mashpee’s Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (“EDIC”). Subsequently, the Mashpee Board of Selectmen appointed a Board of Directors of the Corporation. These Directors offer a wide range of talent and insight from a number of fields, all of whom are committed to seeking successful partnerships with area businesses.

In 2011, the Mashpee EDIC received District Local Technical Assistance funding from the Cape Cod Commission to fund the retention of a qualified economic development consultant to prepare a business plan which will become a blue print for future economic development in our community. This is in partnership with the Falmouth EDIC.

In 2013, the Mashpee EDIC completed the "Mashpee Guide for Business," available by clicking here and in printed form at Town Hall and other locations around Town. This Guide is intended to assist prospective businesses in navigating the regulatory framework of the Town of Mashpee. The Guide includes a detailed description of each Town department, contact information for each department head, and a full suite of permit documents, as well as other helpful tips and information.

The EDIC's Mission Statement is as follows:

"To advocate sound growth policy, and to stimulate sustainable economic opportunities that will enhance the quality of life within the Mashpee community."

In an effort to integrate private and public sector interests, and to fulfill the EDIC’s mission of promoting economic growth and assisting new and existing businesses in creating job opportunities, we welcome you to contact us to discuss your company’s short term and long-range goals.
