Comprehensive Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan

The Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP) is the culmination of multiple documents, the last of which is the Final Recommended Plan and Final Environmental Impact Report (FRP/FEIR or The Plan). This report is the last of four documents required as part of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA)/Cape Cod Commission (CCC) Development of Regional Impact (DRI) joint review process. The Plan is the result of over 15 years of effort in examining Mashpee’s needs and coordinating with the efforts of the Massachusetts Estuaries Project (MEP) and, most recently, the Cape Cod Commission’s 208 Planning efforts. This has resulted in a 25-plus year implementation schedule allowing mid-course corrections to occur as part of the Adaptive Management part of the process. The Project Planning Area (PPA) includes all of Mashpee and portions of the neighboring communities of Barnstable, Falmouth and Sandwich that fall within the Popponesset Bay watersheds or eastern Waquiot Bay watersheds.
