Cyanobacteria Blooms in Mashpee-Wakeby Pond and Santuit Pond *CLOSED TO SWIMMING*

Cyanobacteria Advisory

Mashpee-Wakeby Pond and Santuit Pond have been closed to swimming due to the presence of a cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) bloom. The swimming and access areas are posted with the cyanobacteria advisories and “No Swimming” signs. Cyanobacteria can cause skin irritation and other health issues. Pet owners should use caution to prevent pets from coming in contact or consuming any water from Mashpee-Wakeby and Santuit Ponds.
