Hurricane Henri             PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT             August 20, 2021

The Town of Mashpee shall continue to closely monitor the track of Hurricane Henri and encourages all residents and visitors to remain informed about the latest weather forecasts. As of today, the storm is expected to reach landfall locally Sunday into Monday. The Town strongly recommends securing loose items around homes and in and around waterways, such as kayaks and water boards. Town beaches will not be staffed Sunday, August 22nd and South Cape Beach will be closed around dusk on Saturday, August 21st.

We urge everyone to avoid unnecessary travel so that roads remain clear for emergency vehicles and clean-up crews or utility workers. Additionally, the Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, August 22nd. Shelters are anticipated to be opened in Falmouth and Sandwich. Transportation may be arranged through the Recreation Department. For medical, fire or other emergencies, dial 911. For other needs, please contact the Mashpee Police Department at 508-539-1480.
