Modification to Transfer Station Procedures due to COVID-19

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 TRANSFER STATION RESPONSE PLAN

In response to the circumstances related to the CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, the Town of Mashpee has developed a Response Plan to maintain essential service while keeping our staff and residents safe. 

Below is an explanation of the modified operations implemented at the Transfer Station.  Additional modifications may be required in the future if vendors who take the accepted items shut down or restrict their operation.

Items Accepted

- Solid Waste (trash)

- Standard Recyclables (plastic, glass, metal can, newspaper, mixed paper, cardboard)

- Rigid Plastic

- Scrap Metal

- Textiles (clothing)

- Leaves and Grass Clippings

- Brush (2 barrel limit)

Items Not Accepted

- Antifreeze

- Automobile batteries

- Electronics/TVs

- Fluorescent/LED bulbs

- Furniture

- Mattresses/Box Springs

- Propane Tanks

- Rechargeable batteries

- Tires

- Waste oil

- White Goods/Appliances

We respectfully request that residents hold on to non-acceptable items until normal operations resume.  These modified operations will remain in effect until further notice.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during this public health emergency.
