Sampson's Mill Road / Old Kings Road


The Towns of Mashpee and Barnstable will be replacing a culvert at the Santuit River on Sampson’s Mill Road (Mashpee)/Old Kings Road (Barnstable).  Work is scheduled to begin Monday, August 12, 2019 and will continue through Friday, December 6, 2019. 

Sampson’s Mill Road/Old Kings Road will be closed to traffic in both directions for the duration of the project.  The road closure will be between Willowbend Drive in Mashpee and at Abbey Gate Road in Barnstable.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured in Mashpee onto Cape Drive to Route 28.   Westbound traffic in Barnstable will be alerted via message boards to utilize Route 28 via Main Street.

Cotuit Road Improvements

Improvements to include installation of a sidewalk on the east side of the road (odd numbered), drainage installation, re-alignment of the intersection with Route 130, and resurfacing of the road.

Work will continue through Fall 2019.  The tentative schedule for the next few months is:

11/1/2019 - 12/13/2019        Complete sidewalk thru binder paving. 

Pimlico Heights Road Conversion (Pierre Vernier Dr, Gunter’s Ln, Katian Way)

Conversion of the neighborhood roads from private to Town as approved at the October 2018 Town Meeting.

Final Paving to be scheduled in November.  Exact date will be forthcoming. 

Final paving with driveway apron transitions will be scheduled at a later date.  Properties with concrete driveways or with cobblestone aprons will be responsible for making any necessary adjustments.
