Licensing of Dogs
All Dogs are subject to the Mashpee Leash Law.

In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 140, Section 137, and the provisions of Chapter 79-5.2 of the Mashpee Town By-laws; a license is hereby issued to the person named to keep the dog herein described. Said dog is numbered and registered as required by said laws, for which a fee has been paid.
"The owner or keeper of a licensed dog shall cause it to wear around its neck or body a collar or harness... To which shall be attached a tag..."
This license is granted subject to the conditions that the dog herein described shall be controlled and restrained from killing, chasing or harassing livestock.
If a dog is permanently removed to another town, a transfer license must be secured in such town.
Every dog three months old or over must be licensed and tagged. Dog tags are available for a one-, two-, or three-year term, according to the expiration date of their rabies certificate. The expiration date must be at least three months into the licensing year.
