Does the Town of Mashpee have a composting program?

Yes, the Town of Mashpee has a composting program.

Leaves, grass clippings, and shrub (soft) trimmings may be brought to the transfer station for composting (Transfer Station or recycling permit required). Screened compost is available seasonally for use by residents. A sign at the gatehouse will alert residents of the availability of compost. The attendant can also answer any questions on availability.

Home composting bins may also be purchased for a reduced price at the Department of Public Works through a start-up grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. All money raised through the sale of the composting bins is used to purchase additional bins.

Home composting bins may be purchased at the Department of Public Works at 350 Meetinghouse Road, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm,  Monday to Friday. The cost is $25.00 for Mashpee residents.
