Prohibited Materials

The following materials are prohibited from both the Transfer Station and the Recycling Area:

• Hazardous materials such as flammables, explosives, pesticides, chemicals, gas cylinders, and oil-based paints*
  Latex paints or water-based stains may be disposed of with trash – allow any remaining paint to dry out or use kitty litter to absorb prior to disposal.
• Building and demolition materials (See below)
• Pesticides, oil-based paints, solvents, and certain other chemicals may be disposed of at the household hazardous product collection days held throughout the year.  For more information on these collection days, call (508) 539-1490.
