The Big FixThe Big Fix is a community service event coordinated by Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC). The vision of this event is to make home and landscaping improvements that will enhance the comfort, safety and quality of life for seniors, the disabled and veterans on Cape Cod and the Islands. Our mission is to engage community volunteers in performing small home repairs, cleaning and landscaping work at homes selected to receive assistance. The accumulation of small home repairs can become a burden to this population of the community. These minor repairs will have a major impact on the lives of these residents. Follow the links to either volunteer or apply to be a Big Fix recipient. http://www.haconcapecod.org/big-fix/ |
Great Neck Road North The Town began improvement
work on Great Neck Road North this past fall. Initial work included drainage with road construction beginning in the spring. Construction of a new sidewalk from Route 130 to the Rotary is now underway. Installation of a traffic signal at the intersection with Lowell Road is scheduled for the end of April. Paving of the road, which will require a detour of northbound traffic, is scheduled for May 13-23. Full completion of the approximately $2 million project is expected by early June. The end result will include a signalized intersection at Lowell Road, improved sight lines and a continuation of the Route 130 sidewalks all the way to the Rotary. |
