Regular meetings of the Planning Board are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 7:00 pm, unless otherwise posted. These public meetings are broadcast live on local cable Channel 18.
Manages the Planning Board’s regulatory process, including meeting scheduling and agendas, hearing notices, mailings to parties in interest and Board decisions and handles all Board fees.
Reviews and makes recommendations regarding applications. Provides administrative, procedural, zoning, inspections and other technical assistance to the Board regarding their review of subdivisions, other lot divisions and Special Permit projects. Assists applicants with understanding and meeting the Board’s application and regulatory requirements.
Provides similar staff support and applicant assistance for the Historic District Commission.
Provides staff support for the Sewer Commission and assists Commission with implementation of Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan and continued work on nutrient reduction in coastal watersheds and ponds.
Manages the Department’s, Planning Board’s and Sewer Commission’s budget, payroll and other administrative functions. Maintains Planning, Sewer Commission and Historic District Commission web pages.
Developed Comprehensive Plan and prepares updates in conjunction with the Planning Board and other Town departments and committees. Implements Comprehensive Plan recommendations, including development of zoning and regulatory amendments. Proposes and drafts other zoning amendments.
Developed and updates Town’s Open Space Conservation & Recreation Plan. Assists in Town open space and other land purchases and dispositions.
Updates Town Affordable Housing Planned Production Plan. Assists Affordable Housing Committee as requested, and with Habitat for Humanity and other affordable housing projects.
Prepares grant applications.
Maintains a Town lands database and prepares annual housing, land use and population estimates and projections along with other demographic and land use research and analysis.
Provides assistance to, and projects for Selectmen, Planning Board, Town Manager, ZBA, Conservation Commission and other boards and departments as requested, along with day-to-day information requests from other departments, boards, developers, appraisers, attorneys and the public.
Town Planner serves on the Plan Review Committee and the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge Management Committee and as Mashpee’s representative on the Cape Cod Water Protection Collaborative.
