Rules and Regulations

All monuments shall be made of granite.  Each plot is limited to one monument.  One flush marker is permitted per grave.  The maximum allowable dimensions are show below.

Markers or Monument Bases

  • Infant Grave:          18 inches long by 10 inches wide
  • Cremation Plot:      24 inches long by 14 inches wide
  • Single Grave/Plot:  24 inches long by 14 inches wide
  • Double Plot:           36 inches long by 14 inches wide
  • Triple Plot:..            48 Inches long by 16 inches wide
  • Quadruple Plot:      60 inches long by 16 inches wide

Monument Headstone

  • Infant Grave:          12 inches long by 6 inches wide
  • Cremation Plot:      18 inches long by 10 inches wide
  • Single Grave/Plot:  18 inches long by 10 inches wide
  • Double Plot:           30 inches long by 10 inches wide
  • Triple Plot:              42 inches long by 12 inches wide
  • Quadruple Plot:      54 inches long by 12 inches wide

The planting of flowers only around a monument or grave marker shall be permitted (within 6 inches of monument or marker.)  Potted plants (12 inch diameter or smaller) and metal ground level or half-exposed vases shall also be allowed.

Water shall be provided at the cemetery from April 1st through October 31st.

Maintenance of any plantings shall be the responsibility of the plot owner.

Funeral arrangements shall be removed by the Department of Public Works after seven days.

Wreaths and Christmas greens shall be allowed from December 1st to February 1st.

Glass/ceramic containers or ornaments, urns, flower boxes, fences, curbing, and crushed stone are prohibited.

religious artifacts and vigil candles shall be allowed on a plot, provided they are placed within six inches of the base of the monument and the are not made of glass or ceramic material.

Personal mementos or keepsakes, including, but not limited to, stuffed animals, toys, decorative flags, and photographs, shall be removed after a suitable time period at the discretion of the Cemetery Commission or Cemetery Superintendent.

Placement of American flags on a grave shall be permitted.

The Cemetery Superintendent may remove any items which interfere with the maintenance of the cemetery or which become unsightly.
