How Do I Connect For Sewer Service?

Once its determined that a property is eligible for sewer service, expect the Town's contractor to identify the location for the property owner's connection to the wastewater collection system by placing a Green Stake on the property.  The lateral connection stub to the main will be installed as planned if the property owner is satisfied with the placement of the Green Stake.  However, if property owners wish to verify or question the location, the property owner should contact a local licensed utility installer approved by the Board of Health to verify the location of the Green StakeClick here for the list of local licensed utility installers.  It's important for property owners to take this step to verify that the position of the Green Stake is in the most advantageous spot on the property.

It is too premature for any licensed utility installer to offer a firm estimate on the cost of the lateral connection.  However, most contractors are more than willing to make a free or low cost visit to properties to assist the property owner at this stage in the process.  Confirming where the service lateral is located is ALL property owners need to be concerned with at this time.
